There was a table in front of the house.
The March Hare and the Hatter sat at the table.
A Dormouse sat between them.
It was fast asleep.
They used it as a pillow.
"No room! No room!" they cried when they saw Alice.
"There is plenty of room!" said Alice.
She sat down in a big chair.
"Have some wine," said the March Hare.
Alice looked around the table.
"I don't see any wine," she said.
"There isn't any," said the March Hare.
"Then it was rude to offer it," said Alice.
"It was rude of you to sit down," said the March Hare.
"You were not invited."
"Your hair needs cutting," said the Hatter.
"You should not make personal remarks," said Alice.
"It is very rude."
"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" asked the Hatter.
"Oh good! A riddle!" thought Alice.
"I think I can guess that."
"Do you mean you can find the answer?" asked the March Hare.
"Yes," said Alice.
"Then you should say what you mean," said the March Hare.
"I do," said Alice.
"At least I mean what I say."
"That is not the same thing," said the Hatter.
