But Alice's giant arm was sticking out of the window.

She tried to grab the Rabbit.

But he jumped away.

She heard the Rabbit calling for help.

"Pat! Come help me!"

"There's a giant arm in my window!"

"We need to get rid of it!"

Alice heard them talking about Bill.

Poor Bill had to go down the chimney.

But Alice's foot was in the chimney!

When she felt something scratching above her.

She kicked hard.

She heard a little scream and then silence.

Then voices shouted.

"There goes Bill!"

The Rabbit was very upset now.

"We must burn the house down!" he shouted.

"If you do that, I'll send my cat after you!" Alice called out.

Everything went quiet for a moment.

Then little pebbles started flying through the window.

Some of them hit Alice in the face.

But then something magical happened.

The pebbles turned into little cakes on the floor!

Alice ate one of the cakes.

She began to shrink immediately.

As soon as she was small enough, she ran out of the house.

There was a crowd of animals outside.

A little lizard named Bill was being helped by two guinea pigs.
